John is an Employee Benefits Consultant at Metzler Bros. He is a graduate of Rutgers University with a BS in Finance/Management and completed his MBA at Rider University. John holds the Health Insurance Association of America (HIAA) designation and is working towards his Certified Employee Benefit Specialist designation (CEBS). Kay is Vice President of Human Resources at Treat America Food Services in Overland Park. She has over 20 years experience in Human Resources and graduated from Baker University with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. Gordon is a Vice President at the career management firm of Lee Hecht Harrison in Overland Park. He has over 20 years of HR, career management and consulting experience. Jackie Bond, PHR
Jackie works for the Lockton Companies, LLC and have been very active in the HR community. She has been both an SHRMJC Board Member and a SHRM Kansas State Council Member. In 2007 she was a Kansas State Council Conference Co-Chair and helped organize the highly successful State Conference held in Overland Park in 2007. Doug Reed
Doug Reed is the President of Reed Financial Group in Overland Park. His company is a boutique wealth management firm specializing in investment management, career financial transition planning, retirement and estate planning for middle to upper level employees and executives. In 2009 he authored and published his first book, “Career Financial Transitions”, which outlines the steps necessary to help avoid financial disaster during a career move. Doug has served as Director of Communications and Director of Government & Legal Affairs. This is Doug’s second year as SHRMJC Treasurer.

Karen Schreck, PHR
Karen is the Director of Employee Benefits at Nueterra Healthcare in Leawood, Kansas. She has more that 15 years of HR experience and has been an active member of SHRMJC since 1994. She has served as Chairperson of the Program and Workforce Readiness Committees and the Certification Study Group as well as President-Elect, Past President and President in 2000. Tracie Dye, PHR
Tracie is the Benefits Administrator at Treat America Food Services in Merriam, KS. She has over 5 years Human Resources experience and graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelors in Business Administration. Tracie has been a national SHRM member since 2004 when she helped revitalized the KU student SHRM chapter as the President for three semesters. Lenora Larson
With a BS in Microbiology, Lenora has been in health care for her entire professional life, beginning with 12 years as a Research Assistant at Michigan Cancer Foundation. Her healthcare business experience includes sales, sales management and business development for national and regional healthcare companies. She is currently Director of Business Development for New Directions Behavioral Health, headquartered in Overland Park, Kansas. She is an active member of the Topeka and Johnson County SHRM Chapters and served as State Conference Exhibitor Chair from 2001 to 2010. Mira Mdivani
Mira is a business immigration attorney and managing partner at the Mdivani Law Firm in Overland Park, KS. Mira is a member of the Missouri and Kansas Bars and the American Immigration Lawyers Association. Her areas of expertise are corporate immigration compliance and work visas. Mira authored numerous articles on business immigration law and several books, including "Employer Immigration Compliance Plan: HR’s Guide to Policies and Procedures that Work", "I-9 Self-Audits: The Best Way to Prevent I-9 Disasters"; and "U.S. Immigration Law and Policy for College Students". Ted is a Partner at Insight Management Consultant and directs the Executive Search and Strategic Staffing practice of the firm. Insight is a locally owned consulting firm that has earned an outstanding reputation for solving client issues around strategy, information technology, and human resources. Insight’s executive search and strategic staffing experience ranges across a broad cross section of industries, professions, and geographic locations. Amy Skjerven
Amy Skjerven is the HR Business Partner for the Coleman Company Distribution Center, in Gardner , KS.
Previously, Amy was HR Manager at the Staples Fulfillment Center in Edwardsville,
KS. Amy’s has a strong background in the distribution center environment, including Staples
and Dollar General. Amy earned her B.S. in Mass Communications from Minnesota State University at Moorhead; and a B.S.
in Management with Human Resources specialization from Kansas State University in Manhattan.

Matt Smith
Matt currently works at Lockton as an Account Executive. Prior to this position, he served as a Senior Underwriter at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City. Matt worked in underwriting and leadership development roles for CIGNA in their Connecticut office for seven years before relocating to the Kansas City area in 2005. He has dealt with a wide spectrum of clients that range from small, fully-insured groups to large, multi-site national accounts.
