The Society for Human Resource Management of Johnson County (SHRM of Johnson County) is a professional association dedicated to the advancement and support of the human resource profession.
An affiliate of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), SHRM of Johnson County was started in 1979 as the Personnel Association of Olathe by members of the PMA of Kansas City (today’s SHRM of Greater Kansas City) who felt recruiting and staffing needs were unique in Johnson County.
In 1984 the association became the Human Resource Management Association of Johnson County (HRMAJC). In approximately 1998 it became a SHRM affiliate and in 2009 the name was changed to SHRM of Johnson County.
From its original 4 members, SHRMJC has grown into a dynamic organization of more than 400 members representing over 200 companies.
Membership includes practitioners at all levels in large corporations and small companies, HR consultants and educators. Most of the companies represented are located in the Johnson County area and surrounding areas.
Members enjoy benefits such as educational programs featuring top local and national speakers; seminars; early morning break out sessions; and online membership roster just to name a few.
